
Bowls like these were used in households across Burma, and were used to serve rice or curry. This one rests on seven small feet and is reinforced with ribs spaced around the outside of the bowl. The foundation is hand woven of bamboo and covered with layer upon layer of lacquer, with the red color added in to the final lacquer applications.
